A baby quilt made from a charm pack of 'Little Apples' by Anita Hoey - it's been sitting on my stash shelf for about three years so I grabbed it a couple of weekends ago when I wanted a quick project.
I found some soft teal and grey fabrics to use as the four patches in between the charm squares. I love the little pictures: the apple trees, the children, and especially the turtles!
Last weekend I quilted it with a simple diagonal and sewed on the polka dot binding...so good to have another completed finish.
A hearty Southern NZ hello to any 'party' visitors via Kelly's Needle and Thread Thursday or Angie's WIPs Be Gone or Myra's TGIFF- as well as those via Amanda Jean's Finish It Up Friday or Sarah's Can I Get a Whoop Whoop!- welcome to the deep south of New Zealand!
Your quilt is lovely and that fabric is so playful! It reminds me of my grandchildren! Nice use of your charm pack! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I teach kids and the little motifs on this quilt are spot-on when it comes to capturing the charm and energy of children.

ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! I had been wanting to use this charm pack for quite a while.
DeleteA lovely quilt, so sweet! That fabric range certainly was a pretty range, I too have some of the 'tree' fabric somewhere still!
ReplyDeleteGreat to use up an older charm pack -- make way for some new ones to come in.
ReplyDeleteHmm, yes, I still have a few more to use up (bought them back when the US$ was good against the NZ$) but I do often still have a quick look at the Fat Quarter Shop sale section...
DeleteI love the randomness of the 4patches! You did a great job of distributing the green and orange charm squares! What a great baby quilt!
