Quilt for...Anna!

Have this week delivered this to our young friend Anna Harpur as a gift for her 11th birthday (just after Christmas) - she is a lucky girl as I found it hard to part with as I just love the fabrics/colours so so much! (But I still have a layer cake in those fabrics so will get onto making my own quilt in the new year!)
I started this back in October using Moda's Amelia design - a charm pack of 5" squares -
created my own design and added yardage, including the black on white polka dot - to make it single bed size.

Has been quilted by Barbara Joyce Quilting at Otautau - she has quilted all over in a daisy design.

Backing was made using extra yardage and a tiny pink and white pin-stripe bought at Spotlight.
Has my 'trade-mark' heart label in bottom corner.

  1. Love your quilt, fabric choice and quilting, so pretty, I would have a hard time parting with it too!!

  2. So spring!! It makes me feel like I want to go.. I see green grass you have there.. we have snow!

  3. Love those colors too - I would have a tough time parting with it!

  4. Those colors are just so fresh and pretty, and your quilting looks amazing -- I love it! Hope you can find the strength to give it up! LoL

  5. What a pretty girl for some little girl (or grown woman?!). The daisies are beautiful--my compliments to the quilter.

Also, How you did the backing is really neat!

  6. Thank you all! It is for a young girl, still all the clue I can give! As for the backing, I was restricted by the amount of pinstripe that I had available and I wanted to include pieces of the flower range fabrics so chucked the strip in the middle and the strips at the side to make up the difference.
And we have green grass as it is summer here - we have a summertime Christmas (though it has been known to snow on Christmas Day!)
    Cheers everyone!
