Another Comma tote bag

This one's for me! I can't bear to part with it, will be perfect for winter! Side A above, Side B below.
Same fabrics as before, Comma by Brigitte Heitland from Zen Chic for Moda. And this time I eyeballed the straight lines again for the quilting, but used the walking foot rather than the FMQ foot so the lines stayed straighter.
A little pocket on the inside...and of course Bess had to get in on the shoot...
Must get on and finish the Comma quilt now, gotta love school holidays! Have eaten my Easter egg, finished the novel The Aviator's Wife and now can go out and do some autumn weeding (me being a seasonal gardener and all...I only weed once a season!)

Comma bag for Blanche

Happy birthday Aunty Blanche!

Made from my current favourite fabric (see the the quilt top I made a few weeks ago)...Comma by Brigitte Heitland for Zen Chic for Moda, with a green dot fabric called Free Bird by MoMo for Moda...and using the Cherry Charm Pack pattern with a few adaptations by myself to make it into a bag...

Side A...

Side B...

Close up of the organic lines I used for quilting, shades of light and dark grey, black, orange and cream...

Panel before creating bag...

Panel before quilting...
Linking up with Finish It Up Friday on the Crazy Mom Quilts blog! ...and returning to that quilt top to get it quilted and bound before the school holidays finish...

Modern flimsy

Just thinking about what to do for a border...
Is the pattern Charm Pack Cherry from the Fat Quarter Shop, made in fabric range Gamma by Briggitte Heitland for Zen Chic by MoMo for Moda, plus a green dot from the Free Bird range also by MoMo.

(It looks a bit puckered in places but it is just the way I chucked it on the floor for the photo)
