Fox in a Twist

This cot quilt (measures 37.5" x 44") was a new baby gift for my cousin's new grandson, Jack Burgess, who was born in 2025.

The pattern is 'Jelly Roll Twist', a freebie from the Fat Quarter Shop, though I made it as 8" blocks not 9" as in the pattern.  The fabric was a woodlands themed jellyroll in my stash from Spotlight, and I added some other solids and prints from my stash.

I did an allover stipple on my Bernina Q20 longarm for the quilting, and it has a fox flannel backing.

Minnie For Meadow cot quilt

This cot quilt was made in 2025 (yes, I am still catching up on last year's projects!) for Meadow, the new baby girl of my cousin's daughter Emma Dawson - Emma is a big fan of Minnie Mouse so I thought this set of Disney fat quarters (plus a couple of extra fabrics for colour variations) would be well received.

I used the pattern 'Jumping Jack' by Sue Pfau from her book 'Quilts From Sweet Jane' - it is an easy pattern and I have used it before (in 2018, and in n 2016).

The quilt measures 37.5" x 39". I quilted it on my Bernina Q20 longarm with diagonal lines and some zig-zag loops.  The backing used a sweet little bird floral flannel.

And yes, the quilt was indeed well received - here is Meadow (and also the family dog, named Minnie!)

Spinning With Love baby quilt

Final finish of 2024...a cot/baby quilt for our friends (Julie Russell and Oliver Mason) new baby girl, Hannah.

I used the leftovers from the quilt I made for Caci and Josh (fabrics: 'Fresh Dew' by Paula + Waffle for Dear Stella).

I made my own pattern using HSTs to create the pinwheels in blocks of four with a thin sashing in between. It measures 42" sq.

I quilted it with some simple curves and ribbons, using my Bernina Q20 longarm machine.

The backing is strips of leftover fabric and a cute bunny rabbit print.

Pinks and Blues From Me 2 U

Another 2024 quilt project, made with some orphan jellyroll strips left over from this large jellyroll quilt and rescued from languishing in the drawers.

I joined the strips then made 4-at-a-time HST blocks which are very versatile and can be played around with in all sorts of designs depending on how you lay them out; I chose the diamond layout:

It measures 27.5" x 32" so is cot-size (or knee-rug/small lap quilt) and I decided to do some simple straight line quilting with my Elna 200 domestic machine.

The binding was a blue multi-stripe from my stash, and the backing is a flannel that was also in my stash.

Lazy Sunday bassinet quilts

Some catch-ups from earlier in the year - these bassinet quilts were created in the April school holidays after I had a big tidy-up of my fabric stash, and decided to use up a heap of off-cuts/leftovers of flannel by making backings for neonatal unit bassinet quilts, then creating tops for them out of scraps or other leftovers or stash fabrics.
