Wedding Wishes (Upon A Star)

My lovely workmate, Aleisha Williams, is getting married next weekend and we held a morning tea for her today at work to wish her all the best. Of course I just HAD to make a quilt for her!

I decided to do the Amy Gibson 'Triple Barn Star' pattern that I first used last year, as it is a lovely big lap quilt that can also easily be used over a bed, so Aleisha can use it wherever she likes.

Another workmate gave me some ideas on possible colours to use and I found this really cool range of teal and grey 'Pearl Essence by Maywood Studio' fabrics at Spotlight. They have gorgeous metallic prints in flowers and geometric designs.

I was decided to just quilt with straight lines, some in-the-ditch and others just as echo lines or detail lines. The quilt measures 71" square and I backed it with leftover yardage.

And here is the bride-to-be - wishing you and Kurt all the very very best for your big day and for many years of happiness in the future!

    1. Cheers Sarah! It was a bit of a gloomy time of day for photos but I was gifting it the next day so needed to get the shots, so the colours aren't quite as intense as they truly are.

    1. She certainly was Leeanne, I don't think she was expecting it. I just love giving quilts for significant occasions - makes it even more special to be creating them.
