First 'completion' for 2013.

Not quite a true completion as I still have the quilting to do but I am so pleased to get this quilt-top done! I love the look of it!

This week I made the most of coming home early from our Te Anau holiday (due to the 250mm of rain that fell while we were there and kind of 'dampened' the festivities) to get started on my to-do list of WIPs/UFOs...

began with the Sept and Oct BOMs from the Craftsy class with Amy Gibson...
First time with curved pieces: Cleopatra's Puzzle and Chain Block

First time foundation piecing: Circle of Geese and Friendship Circle

and today I sashed it all together and I love the way it looks, just like I had hoped...

Now I just need to get some batting and the right colour of backing fabric and then I will start free-motion quilting it (following Leah Day's Craftsy class).

So satisfying to go back to the list and cross something off!

  1. Lovely blocks, Jen - it sure is a great feeling to finish a top and I bet it looks great all sashed and ready to go ... More photos, pretty please :)

  2. I would love to see a picture of the quilt! Perhaps next week you can post it for Whoop Whoop Fridays?

Apparently you are not the only one having problems with photo uploading. If it helps, Wanda posted how she was able to get around the issue.

    1. Thanks Julie, for some reason the programme is refusing to browse my computer to get my photos - I have not got my head round the Picasa Web albums yet but have managed to get them uploaded to that and put the photos onto the blog - so do come and have another look! Cheers, Jenny

    1. Thank you! I did look at the new BOM but decided I will be just busy enough once school starts up again, and I really want to concentrate on getting those UFOs completed this year.

    1. Thanks Binky, I can't wait to see it all quilted too but patience will have to be my virtue there as it certainly won't happen overnight!
