Began this in 2012, following along with Amy Gibson's online class and finished it this past January with Leah Day's free motion quilting class (both from Craftsy.com)
Really cool to try a few new techniques and I love the pink colour scheme...the back is white with a pale mint polka dot section but I didn't take a photo as the white quilting on white fabric didn't really show in the photo.
You should hire Bess out as a quilt model, Jen, she's an absolute natural and so cute, gorgeous yawning, feed-me eyes ... aaaaaah. Oh, your quilt's really nice too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Bess was just happy to see us come outside (the weather has been yucky so we had to shoot out in a break in the rain!)
DeleteBeautiful quilt Jen and fabulous quilting too! Thanks for sharing Marie (mlismore@optusnet.com.au)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comment and for dropping by!
DeleteWow, that is so pretty. I really like the shades of pink and cute doggie!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Bess is so black that it can be hard to get nice photos where you can see her features! Yes, I love the pinks too!
DeleteCongratulations on finishing your Craftsy BOM 2012 quilt. I participated in it too and finished my quilt in 2013. I love how you used the same color family in your blocks. Very lovely! Bess looks quite content to a part of the photo shoot! Love our pets - don't we? I am visiting after yours to my blog. Thanks for the compliments on the baseball t-shirt quilt. I am not aware of any of the Coyle family line in NZ. I don't know much about the ancestry other than they were from Ohio in the US.
ReplyDeleteSampler quilts are a great way to try new blocks and techniques without committing to an entire quilt. Yours is lovely! I love your quilting in each block too! Wonderful finish and bless is a cutie too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! I am really thrilled with it and will definitely be keeping it as a reference for future FMQ!
DeleteBeautiful quilt and your quilting turned out amazing. I need to practice my FMQ more. Thank you for sharing your work. You have a cute quilt model as well. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, our Bess is much loved! She doesn't get to sleep on the quilts though (unlike the cat!)
DeleteBeautiful job! You accomplished a lot of quilting techniques in the one quilt. It was worth all the time it took. Bess is quite cute also.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comments! I was thrilled to get it all finished!
