On the shelf of the spare room I was forever walking past a Riley Blake layer cake that I bought two years ago with a birthday voucher. I thought I might be able to use it for a low volume quilt class I have on Craftsy but that uses 13" squares and this is a 10" square cake.
I don't know where but I am presuming I have read it or seen it somewhere online, but I decide to just cut the cake into pieces and then mix up the pieces to make a new block. I divided the layers into sets of similar colours firs then aimed to have one of each design in each block.
What a super quilt, Jen - reminds me of ice cream ... Love it :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I can see what you mean about the ice-cream - makes me think of milkshakes actually!
DeleteThat looks like nice combo even at the night time photo. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vera, the colours are pretty close, it is quite a pastel scheme. Have a good weekend.
DeleteLovely pastels. Your inspiration is much appreciated in the soft colors genre.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynda! I must get onto working out how to finish it off! Will require a trip to my local quilt store - gosh, that will be hard...LOL!
DeleteI love this! Great block and a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am in the middle of getting the binding onto it so i can get it finished for my colleague (whose daughter in Canada is expecting a baby girl in August)...so watch this space for the finished result!
