WIP Wednesday #2

Welcome to visitors from Amanda's Finish It Up Friday and Kelly's Needle and Thread Thursday and from Lee's WIP Wednesday link-up

This is my ultimate sewing week! I love my husband and child, however I have to say that having five days at home on my own (they are visiting family in Napier) is sewing heaven! Not to mention the fact that I have the TV to myself and can eat whenever and whatever I want!

This week's progress...three quilt tops so far...

#1 quilt top...Spiderman theme, single bed size

10" sized blocks alternate with bordered 6" blocks

#2 quilt top...red/black/grey, single bed size - based on the pattern above...- I actually had enough blocks to make a double-bed sized quilt but decided I preferred it as two smaller quilts...

Striped 10" blocks, with bordered striped 6" blocks
#3 quilt top...red/black/grey, lap size

  1. When I only had one boy, my husband took him on a fishing trip for a week. I pieced a queen size quilt while they were gone. Looks like you have also made good use of your time. I love those red, black, and grey quilts.

    1. Yes, as much as we love them we also sometimes need some time out for ourselves! I am looking forward to seeing them again tomorrow. Thanks for dropping by!

  3. They're lovely - great fabric combination and a good block design.

    1. Thanks Marly! It is a nice easy pattern (that was easy to do while catching up with all my favourite programmes that I had saved up to watch while I had control of the TV screen LOL!)

A mini-retreat where you don't have to pack it up and you can stay in your pj's!?! Heaven for a quilter!
Love the red, black and white one especially.

    1. I know! I was cherishing every moment (in between walking the dog and feeding the hens/cat/dog) - what wasn't to love about it?

    1. And I can see that you have certainly been having a good catch up! Thanks for the lovely comments. I started quilting Spiderman today - mainly straight lines...am going to fmq spiderwebs in the corners of three of the large blocks and three of the small blocks. Hopefully it'll turn out as I envision it. School officially starts on Monday so I want to get it all done before the end of this week!
