Capers and Frisks

Made this for my friend Joanne's daughter, Lexie Morris, who loves blue.

(Shown on our queen bed)

I used a kit-set from Spotlight for the centre panel, which is made from half-square triangles, and then added the border panels to make it into a single-bed quilt.

I quilted stars into the star-print, used zigzag lines on the diamonds and wavy lines on the dark blue panels.

I had been saving this bicycle flannel and it was perfect for the backing.

The name, Capers and Frisks, is because I was listening to a podcast of one of my favourite books, Pride and Prejudice, while I was sewing and one of the lines that really took my fancy was something along the lines of "the children showed their happiness with a variety of capers and frisks" which I though fit really well for a child's quilt with the variety of blue fabrics.

Nice and cosy!
Rumbles tried to give it the comfort test when I was taking some photos!
This is one of my goals for the third quarter of the 2018 Finish Along!

kia ora everyone!

    1. I was saving those bicycles for something for myself but they just suited this project more (and I am sure Lexie probably rides a bike a LOT more than I do these days LOL!)
