These bassinet quilts were made in September with leftovers from my Mystery Jelly Roll QAL that was hosted by Donna's Quilt Studio this year. (I'm still in the process of quilting the Jelly Roll quilt).
Donna had a selection of 'home-made' jelly rolls we could purchase for the QAL and I chose the 'Lagoon' set of lovely blues and greens.
To make the first two quilts, I sewed strips together in pairs, then sliced them up to create a simple rail-fence style of pattern.
'Free and Fresh' measures 23" x 18.5" and has a zebra-print binding with a lion print backing.
I quilted it side-to-side with the curvy zigzag stitch on my machine.

"Fresh and Free' is the same size, 23" x 18.5", and has a lime print binding, also with the lion print backing.
This was quilted using the curvy zigzag stitch on my machine, from top to bottom.

The third quilt, 'Fresh Freedom', used some of the navy solid that features in my QAL quilt, and I used a different block pattern for it.
It measures 20" x 24.5" and has a very cool polar bear print on the back, with a NZ fern print as the binding.
For quilting it, I used the curvy zigzag stitch along all the seam lines and extended them out into the side sashings.
The quilts will go onto my neo-natal unit donation pile for taking to Southland Hospital at Christmas time.
Kelly's Needle and Thread Thursday. Hi everyone!
