Batik table runner

Another little project created as an excuse to use the batik charm squares I bought a while back, and for the purpose of practising some free motion quilting...

I used a multi-coloured thread on the top (had JUST enough of it to finish all the quilting thank goodness!), and an aqua on the base.

  1. Oh Jen, your table runner is gorgeous... both the fabrics you used and the quilting. That combination of straight stitching and circles and pebbles is really effective. Did you do the straight line quilting first and then use that as your "frame" for the free motion?

    1. Hi! Aren't the colours lovely? I did quite wide lines first then decided they needed to be thinner so added two more lines in between (so they are about a quarter inch apart) and then filled the shapes with pebbles and decided the outer border needed some lines of circles/pebbles too.
